Jean Folger is an author and freelance writer specializing in the financial markets and personal finance topics, as well as adventure sports, travel, and the great outdoors. She is the co-author of the award-winning book Make Money Trading: How to Build a Winning Trading Business (Marketplace Books, 2007), and has co-authored and contributed to two other books. Her articles have been featured in industry magazines and on numerous financial and news websites.

For more than a decade, Jean traveled the globe and kayaked waterfalls in New Zealand, climbed an active volcano in Chile, swam with hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos Islands, stood at Auschwitz’s gates in Poland, fled raging bush fires in Australia, witnessed a military coup in Ecuador, and called home a small tent a coconut’s throw from the Caribbean Sea on a remote Honduran beach. Traveling off the beaten path and interacting with local communities, Jean developed a global perspective that allowed her to see that all over the world people love their children, want to work hard, and enjoy a good joke.

In addition to traveling and writing, Jean acts as system researcher and trader for PowerZone Trading, LLC a company she co-founded to develop commercial indicators and custom trading solutions for the TradeStation and NinjaTrader platforms. The company is a TradeStation EasyLanguage Specialist and Add-on Developer, providing programming and consultation services to active traders.
